Lágrimas opens upstairs at ABV on November 9th and will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for 2 seatings. One at 6:30 and another at 9. Each costs $75 plus tax and gratuity for 5+ courses of Mexican food and Tequila or Mezcal cocktails.
During Mezcal Week “La Capital” will be offering a special cocktail with Mezcal Meteoro made with Jamaica Flower (Roselle), Basil, Agave honey and maguey worm salt.
On Thursday evening from 7 to 11 pm, La Capital will be offering special mezcal tastings to all attendees. You will be able to taste the difference between two varietals of Agave: Espadin and Tobala, both offered by Mezcal Marca Negra.
Tres Gatos will be focusing on mezcal flights this year, ranging from some very small batch agave distillates by Rezpiral, to some more familiar brands like Del Maguey, Fidencio, Pierde Almas, & Bozal, & even a Raicilla flight for the adventurous guests. These flights will be presented in hand made copitas from a family in Oaxaca, & served with orange & sal de gusano. We hope to deliver an authentic experience to all agave fans!
THE MELBOURNE ALIPÚS MEZCAL TRAIL
Monday the 6th of November (TIME – 6:30pm until late)

To celebrate world Mezcal week on Sunday the 5th of November Alipus Mezcal and four of Melbourne’s finest Mexican restaurants present the Alipus Mezcal Trail.
The idea, four different Alipus Mezcal cocktails all hand matched with four dishes. One night only! Each cocktail and matched dish will set you back only $20.
Each attendee will receive their own Mezcal Passport that they have to get stamped once visiting each of the venues along the Mezcal trail. Once completed they hand their passport back at the last venue they visit to go into the draw to win one of four $100 vouchers from each of the participating venues.
The goal, to expose more of the general public to our favourite spirit.
A full week packed with mezcal fun, featuring four Curio mezcal cocktail creations, mezcal flights and mezcal education.
We will feature two mezcal cocktails for the event:
Scarlett Fever = Nuestra Soledad Mezcal, Tequila, Ginger Syrup, Lemon & Beet Juice
Oaxacan = Nuestra Soledad Mezcal, Bourbon, Amaro Montenegro, Averna
We also have a nice back bar with cool mezcals from Bozal, Craneo, Nuestra Soledad, Derrumbes, Del Maguey and Vago that people can try solo or in a cocktail
